Mixed wrestling is a wrestling contest between man and woman in essence in between wrestlers of opposite genders in contrast to regular wrestling where it’s usually a competition between which is generally played between male and male, in essence in between contenders of same genders. Mixed tag team wrestlings are also kind of the similar thing as there are couples of woman and man opposing another man and woman contenders. This kind of professional wrestling is becoming famous as intergender wrestling. But inter-gender tag team matchs are tad different from the mixed tag team contests. In a mixed tag team match there is a main regulation which bans female and male players to attack each other. If one of the participant tags, then the opposite team has to involuntarily switch their wrestler. But the participant has to be of the similar gender as the other team’s contender. So if it’s a male in the court then only the guy participant of the opposing side can arrive in the court to participate. This sort of tag team game has gotten a lot of recognition in the recent years.
To inform you with a little background, In the past, male and women rarely contested against each other, because it was considered to be unjustified and inequitable contest. It is fair to say that mixed wrestling was first made famous during the early 1970s to 1980s by comedian Andy Kaufman. He called himself “Intergender Champion”. He openly challenged to any woman competitor. There are many other well known players including Madusa etc. Now a days intergender wrestlingbecome a popular part of organizations such as World Champion Wrestling.
