In this way, you can positively reinforce when they do the right things, lavishing them with positive feedback. They want to get positive feedback from you, after all.
Sibling rivalry can be a pretty big situation in a lot of homes. While this issue probably cannot be eliminated completely, there are steps you can follow to try to decrease the amount of fighting that brothers and sisters do. For instance, you can focus on each child’s individual characteristics so that they do not feel quite so competitive with one another, and so that they each feel that they can carve out their identities in their own unique ways.
A crying baby can be very hard to assist because you can’t always tell exactly why a baby is feeling unhappy at a given moment. It’s possible that the baby is hungry or tired or wet or upset for some other reason altogether. After a while, you will get some clarity around your child’s signs, and this will help a great deal. Just remember that no parent is perfect all of the time, so try to be as compassionate with yourself as you are with your baby.
